Key Responsibilities

  • •Advise the client on strategies, manage vendor prequalification, assess bids/proposals, chair bid interviews, and make bid recommendations.
  • •Develop and review project estimates across construction costs, fees, direct work, and other costs; present estimates and value engineering recommendations; perform benchmarking using data from other projects.
  • •Establish and review cost reporting schedules, cost reports, and forecasts; maintain a commercial risk register; host periodic meetings with the project team and vendors.
  • •Manage cost control activities including payment applications, contractor entitlements recommendations with project managers, change order reviews, and dispute prevention/management/resolution processes.
  • •Oversee invoicing, final accounting, post-contract audits and account closeouts, and run post-contract reviews to create lesson-learned documentation and training materials.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering, or a field related to construction.
  • •Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in cost management within the construction industry.
  • •RICS accredited or actively working towards it is valuable.
  • •Experience supporting cost management on medium or large construction projects.
  • •Strong knowledge of construction technical matters including procurement routes, value management, and value engineering, plus strong communication skills.
