Job Function: Energy & Utilities Operations

Key Responsibilities

  • •Engineer mechanical design for energy storage, including BESS enclosures, thermal management, and site integration behind the meter.
  • •Own thermal design for containers and enclosures across climates, using test validation rather than vendor-only solutions.
  • •Integrate storage mechanically into the campus, engineering pads, clearances, fire separation, and service access.
  • •Hard-review vendor systems to compare datasheet claims to what the fleet will actually tolerate.
  • •Support field deployment of mechanical designs and validate performance in real conditions.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 203,000 - 232,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •Mechanical engineering experience for BESS, power electronics, or thermal-critical enclosures.
  • •Experience engineering thermal management validated by test.
  • •Knowledge of safety codes for energy storage siting, including NFPA 855, and designing to them.
  • •Experience evaluating vendor equipment beyond datasheets and brochure claims.
