Job Summary

Manage all legal aspects for the Majid Al Futtaim Development Business Unit, partnering with the VP Legal and acting as the primary legal escalation point. Lead end-to-end handling of complex real-estate and development transactions—structuring, negotiation, and execution of joint ventures, SPAs, development and management agreements, bulk sales, and financing arrangements. Provide commercially focused legal advice, manage legal/regulatory risk, and support dispute avoidance and litigation/arbitration workstreams.

Key Responsibilities

•Support the VP Legal by leading matters independently and serving as the escalation point for legal issues within the Development Business Unit.
•Manage legal matters for DBU projects and transactions as the primary legal point of contact, using delegated authority to negotiate and manage transactions.
•Structure, negotiate, and execute complex real-estate and development transactions from term sheet, including joint ventures and related agreements.
•Advise senior internal stakeholders with timely, pragmatic guidance that balances risk management with business objectives.
•Identify, assess, and manage legal and regulatory risks, draft/review complex contracts, and coordinate dispute avoidance and litigation/arbitration when needed.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor's degree in Law.
•Minimum 10 years post-qualification experience in a reputed law firm and/or real estate development company focused on complex real-estate and development transactions in the UAE.
•Experience structuring, negotiating, and closing transactions including joint ventures, development agreements, and investments, with exposure to cross-border matters.
•Proven ability to draft, review, and negotiate complex contracts and legal documentation.
•Bilingual fluency in Arabic and English; LLM or MBA is a plus.
