Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop proficiency in AECOM estimating systems and estimating processes, including estimating terminology and concepts.
  • •Recognize and quantify how processes, project actions, and assumptions impact estimates; assist in analyzing estimates to predict key project issues.
  • •Prepare and coordinate full project estimates, including conceptual and final estimating inputs, and help develop the estimate plan and estimate basis.
  • •Perform estimating tasks end-to-end, including wage rate build-ups, material take-offs, cash flow schedules, and subcontract bid analysis for scope, cost, and price.
  • •Read and interpret discipline drawings to prepare takeoffs and check quantities; prepare scope and bid package breakdowns for subcontract and vendor quotes.

Key Requirements

  • •BA/BS in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field plus 6 years of relevant experience (or equivalent education/experience).
  • •Ability to apply estimating terminology, measures, concepts, and principles to compile different types of estimates.
  • •Demonstrated experience with estimating software programs such as WINEstimator, Timberline, Aspen Capital Cost Estimator (ACCE), or Heavy Bid.
  • •Demonstrated knowledge of Civil, Structural, and Architectural disciplines and how assumptions/process actions impact estimates.
  • •Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, Requests-for-Proposals, and contracts, and to produce material take-offs and estimate inputs.
