Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

  • •Review key global and regional documents and national health financing strategies to develop an annotated outline and conceptual framework for the strategy.
  • •Conduct analyses and prepare the full draft of the Regional Health Financing Strategy, revising based on WHO and Member State inputs.
  • •Support preparation of technical briefs and presentation materials for external consultations and the Regional Committee, and finalize for publication.
  • •Support development of the regional financial protection report by writing based on analysis and working with AFRO/HQ technical teams.
  • •Translate agreed policy directions into a coherent, actionable strategy and accompanying materials (executive summary, policy brief, slides).

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 9,000 monthly

Key Requirements

  • •Advanced degree in health economics, health financing and policy, public health, development economics, or a related field.
  • •Minimum 10 years of experience in health financing, health policy development, or health system reform.
  • •Demonstrated experience drafting strategic frameworks or policy documents for international or regional bodies.
  • •Experience in developing and testing methodologies in a country-specific context.
  • •Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English; French is an advantage.
