Job Summary

Serve as a VistA Transition SME for the VA Health Portfolio, supporting legacy VistA application transition during EHR modernization deployments. Analyze VistA functionality, HL7 interfaces, security keys, and user access to assess impacts and modernization needs. Create implementation playbooks and usage evaluation reports, support site readiness and cutover validation, and provide technical guidance to implementation sites and stakeholders. Fully remote within the United States with occasional weekend support during cutover events.

Key Responsibilities

•Analyze VistA applications, including packaging, menus, HL7 interfaces, tasked jobs, security keys, and user access to assess transition impacts and modernization requirements.
•Conduct VistA application usage analysis using enterprise reports, Grafana dashboards, and other data sources to identify trends and support transition decisions.
•Develop implementation playbooks, VistA Usage Evaluation (VUE) reports, supporting documentation, and transition recommendations.
•Support site readiness, cutover execution, deployment, and post-implementation validation, including review of application activity, interfaces, and menu usage.
•Serve as a primary technical liaison by presenting findings to leadership/stakeholders and recommending transition improvements based on usage analysis and operational/customer feedback.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 135,000 - 145,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business, or related technical discipline.
•15+ years of work experience.
•Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
•Extensive experience with VistA menu structures, security keys, user access management, provisioning processes, and access restriction activities.
•Experience analyzing VistA usage data/reports/operational metrics and working with geographically dispersed teams in a remote, Agile environment.
