Job Summary

Design, implement, and improve secure, scalable software applications and systems for Visa’s fintech products. Spend 60–75% coding while translating functional requirements into system designs, leading design reviews, and delivering high-quality code through metrics and best practices. Create and execute complex test plans, debug production and test issues, respond to on-call incidents, and build developer tools and automation to improve product performance. Collaborate with product, design, data science, QA, operations, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

•Collaborate with stakeholders to determine requirements for product components and incorporate feedback into designs or solutions.
•Translate functional requirements into system designs, communicate component interactions, and align delivery with business needs and timelines.
•Design and develop product components, refine code plans, and lead design reviews to ensure completeness and requirements adherence.
•Drive code quality by creating extensible, reusable code, leading code reviews, and using metrics and best practices.
•Develop complex test plans, address defects to minimize customer impact, and respond to on-call incidents with debugging and incident resolution support.

Key Requirements

•8+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 6+ years with an advanced degree (Masters/MBA/JD/MD), or 4+ years with a PhD, or 8+ years of relevant experience.
•Experience in software engineering and in developing and/or implementing web-based or mobile applications.
•Experience in a leadership role with or without direct reports.
•Experience creating and maintaining test plans and executing testing procedures, including debugging and troubleshooting software issues.
•Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and performing code reviews while applying coding standards, including experience building/enhancing developer tools.
