Job Summary

Translate customer requirements into detailed AV system designs and documentation. Collaborate with Account Managers during pre-sales to explain solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders, assess risks, and support proposals with labor estimates and materials. Create design packages (BOMs, block diagrams, infrastructure plans, scopes of work) aligned with IP networking and AV/IT standards, then provide “design authority” support during implementation.

Key Responsibilities

•Collaborate with Account Managers to understand customer requirements and translate them into functional system designs during pre-sales.
•Provide solution presentations, explain complex designs, and support proposal creation with labor estimates and material requirements.
•Develop detailed system documentation, including bill of materials, conceptual block diagrams, infrastructure plans, and scopes of work.
•Assess project risks and site conditions; determine infrastructure requirements (power, data, conduit) and coordinate with contractors and vendors.
•Support project teams during implementation as the “design authority” and provide technical input as needed.

•Strong problem-solving skills to identify and address design risks effectively.
•Ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences and work with cross-functional teams.
•Working knowledge of IP networking, including topologies, AVoIP, and network design architecture.
•Familiarity with AV/IT standards (AVIXA, ANSI/TIA) and design tools such as CAD (AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu).
•Two (2) or more relevant audio/DSP certifications (Biamp, Q-SYS, BSS, Extron, Shure, etc.) and a valid driver’s license.
