Job Summary

Lead the design and delivery of high-voltage transmission line work packages for grid-scale utility projects. You’ll set and deliver engineering approaches across technical assurance, calculations, design reviews, and project delivery, adapting requirements to client, site, climate, and engineering standards. Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams (including structural and civil), build trusted client relationships, and use the PLS-CADD platform to mentor others and support next-generation transmission line engineers.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead the approach for transmission line engineering design, calculations, reviews, and technical advisory support for high-voltage and grid-scale projects.
•Support and lead project delivery excellence by leading work packages and ensuring technical verification tasks are completed using AECOM standards and processes.
•Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across transmission, distribution, and related engineering disciplines (including structural and civil) to deliver technically sound solutions.
•Build and maintain client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor on transmission line design work packages with high-quality communication and service.
•Apply PLS-CADD tools (including CADD, Tower and Pole applications) and mentor graduate and early-stage engineers to develop transmission-related technical and project capabilities.

Key Requirements

•8+ years of transmission line engineering experience focused on design across concept, tender, and detailed design stages for complex transmission and distribution projects.
•Experience leading work package and project delivery for grid-scale transmission design projects, aligning outcomes to client standards.
•Strong client engagement and communication skills, including advising and building long-term relationships with technical client teams.
•Proficiency with PLS-CADD (including PLS-TOWER and PLS-POLE), with competence in AutoCAD and Neara beneficial.
•Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Structural, or related Engineering, ideally with postgraduate qualification; Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or equivalent preferred.
