Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop and deploy strategic mechanical engineering initiatives aligned to the Engineering and Maintenance Strategy.
  • •Act as the Statutory Mechanical Engineer, ensuring compliance with SHMS obligations, recognised standards, and legislation.
  • •Approve mechanical inputs into life-of-mine equipment strategies, asset capability assessments, and risk-based maintenance plans.
  • •Lead mechanical FMECA reviews, govern mechanical maintenance procedures/training/component rebuild standards, and provide statutory oversight for commissioning of mechanical systems.
  • •Support maintenance execution teams through strategy adherence and defect management, govern mechanical scope contracts, and lead mechanical engineering input into performance reporting, RCA reviews, and mechanical KPI tracking.

Key Requirements

  • •Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (Master of Engineering Management).
  • •Practicing Certificate for Mechanical Engineering Manager (MEM) obtained or in progress.
  • •Supervisor and Risk Facilitator competencies (S1, 2, 3 & G2, G3).
  • •Experience with Root Cause Analysis (RCA) methodology.
  • •Strong mechanical systems knowledge (including hydraulics and pneumatics) and heavy machinery/OEM knowledge (CAT & Komatsu), plus progressive leadership and project management experience.
