Key Responsibilities

  • •Support and execute portions of larger engineering assignments, including data collection, analysis, calculations, and routine testing.
  • •Deliver quality work on schedule and within budget with minimal supervision.
  • •Guide and mentor junior engineers and designers within the High Voltage Power team.
  • •Lead electrical tasks for infrastructure projects, preparing specifications, studies, and reports for greenfield and brownfield power distribution (from 5kV up to 230 kV), protection and control design, grounding, standby power, and low-voltage distribution systems.
  • •Independently produce a full range of electrical design documents (Single Line Diagram, AC and DC schematics, Site Physical Layouts, Ground Grid Layout, Panel Layout, Cable Schedules, Bill of Materials, and more).
  • •Ensure all deliverables meet AECOM and client standards, regulatory requirements, and engineering best practices.
  • •Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Leads, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • •Supporting projects during construction, start-up, and commissioning.
  • •Occasional travel to client and/or project sites when required.

Key Requirements

  • •University Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution.
  • •6+ years related industry and engineering design experience in a multi-disciplinary electrical and power environment - power generation, transmission, distribution or industrial power system design.
  • •Registered Professional Engineer in Canada.
  • •Familiar with the CEC, CSA, IEEE, and NFPA standards.
  • •Excellent English written and oral communications skills; proven interpersonal skills, self-motivated, results oriented, ability to work independently and be flexible to perform work under tight schedules in a fast-paced integrated multi-disciplinary team environment.
