Manage outbound loss mitigation and delinquency efforts for consumer and mortgage loan customers nearing charge-off. Counsel customers to identify and negotiate workout alternatives—such as forbearance, repayment plans, modifications, pre-foreclosure/short sales, or deed in lieu—while complying with investor, company, federal, insurer, and FDCPA/Privacy Act requirements. Maintain accurate collection records, analyze collateral risk, and escalate issues as needed to support customer outcomes and investor goals.

Key Responsibilities

•Manage a portfolio of late-stage delinquency accounts using loss mitigation options and capacity models.
•Contact defaulted and delinquent customers to obtain payment commitments, explain available workout options, and present alternatives aligned to guidelines.
•Analyze customer situations and collateral risk to recommend and negotiate appropriate loss mitigation resolutions and foreclosure/repository alternatives within timeframes.
•Perform skip tracing, quote reinstatement/payoff amounts, and set up repayment plans in the system while ensuring documentation is received.
•Record collection efforts, monitor compliance for accounts tied to Soldiers and Sailors Act, provide feedback for process improvement, and assist with training new hires.

Key Requirements

•High school diploma or equivalent required.
•Minimum two years of collection, support, or related customer service experience.
•Knowledge of basic mortgage default timelines/procedures (bankruptcy, escrow, foreclosure) and bank-owned/investor/insurer guidelines.
•Required to adhere to FDCPA, Privacy Act, state laws, and other bank collection policy requirements.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Access, and Excel at an intermediate level.
