Key Responsibilities

  • •Advise an assigned student caseload with guidance on academic requirements, course planning, academic progression, and degree completion.
  • •Explain relevant university policies, procedures, requirements, timelines, and available support services, including academic processes like standing and appeals.
  • •Monitor student progress, perform early-alert outreach and follow-up, and coordinate referrals to academic, wellbeing, financial, career, accessibility, and other services.
  • •Build professional advisor-student relationships to promote persistence, accountability, engagement, and academic achievement; support orientation, onboarding, and workshops.
  • •Maintain accurate confidential advising records and reporting using student systems; prepare updates and dashboards for the Associate Head of Student Advising.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in a related STEM discipline.
  • •Minimum 5 years of experience in student advising, student affairs, academic support, student success, counselling support, or higher education administration.
  • •Knowledge of academic policies, degree progression, advising practices, and student-support services.
  • •Experience monitoring student progress, supporting early intervention, and coordinating referrals to support services.
  • •Proficiency maintaining confidential advising records and using student information systems and reporting tools.
