Job Summary

Operate asphalt paver and screed controls to place asphalt on highways, private roadways, parking lots, and driveways. Key Responsibilities

•Run screed controls as part of the crew applying asphalt on highways, private roadways, parking lots, and driveways.
•Adjust asphalt paver settings to achieve proper depth, grade, and finish cross section using screed extensions.
•Coordinate with other crew members to apply asphalt according to plan specifications and help meet daily schedules/estimates.
•Perform related screed tasks such as adding or removing screed extensions as needed.
•Follow PPE policy and support other job-completion tasks when instructed.

Key Requirements

•Operate an asphalt paver and make normal adjustments for proper depth, grade, and finish cross section using screed extensions.
•Partner with other crew members to apply asphalt per plan specifications and perform tasks of other positions as directed by the crew foreman.
•Be able to use job tools (e.g., brooms, picks, mattocks, hammers, saws, pneumatic tools, tamps, sample/concrete saws, sledge hammer) as needed to complete work to specification.
•Have the physical ability to operate equipment under temperature extremes and for extended hours (normal shift 8-12 hours).
•Maintain PPE compliance and be flexible with last-minute schedule/location changes, including overtime and potential out-of-town/county/state work.
