Key Responsibilities

  • •Run technical discovery with engineers, architects, and quants to assess data, throughput, and current systems.
  • •Design and run proofs of concept with written success criteria and timelines, including ingestion paths, schemas, queries, and measurements.
  • •Lead deployment and architecture conversations covering sizing, replication/high availability, backup/recovery, BYOC on AWS and Azure, Kubernetes, RBAC, TLS/SSO, and storage tiering.
  • •Deliver demos and technical deep dives tailored to different audiences, from quant teams to architecture review boards.
  • •Answer security questionnaires and support RFIs/RFPs with vendor due-diligence, then hand off closed deals cleanly for support and engineering to run from day one.

Key Requirements

  • •Has run or supported technical evaluations with enterprise buyers, including defining success criteria and holding a proof of concept to them.
  • •Experience in a hands-on role with databases, streaming, or data infrastructure as a pre-sales engineer, solutions engineer, data engineer, or software engineer.
  • •Based in New York City, or on the US East Coast, and able to be with customers in New York regularly.
  • •Strong SQL and a solid understanding of database internals such as storage layout, partitioning, indexing, and query planning.
  • •A precise communicator who can explain trade-offs clearly and run technical sessions with customers.
