Job Summary

Design, develop, and maintain edge software for IoT gateways that securely connect field-deployed dosimeter devices to cloud systems. Implement and optimize AWS Greengrass on Linux-based gateway hardware, handling BLE communication, device authentication, encryption, remote firmware updates, and diagnostics. Integrate with AWS IoT Core using MQTT messaging, support real-time/batch ingestion (including disconnected scenarios), and collaborate with backend, security, and DevSecOps teams to meet DoD IL4, FedRAMP, and RMF requirements.

Key Responsibilities

•Design, develop, and maintain edge software modules for IoT gateways, including BLE dosimeter communication, device management, and secure data transmission.
•Implement and optimize AWS Greengrass components for deployment on Linux-based gateway hardware.
•Develop and maintain secure device authentication, data encryption, and remote firmware update capabilities.
•Integrate edge software with AWS IoT Core, MQTT messaging, and cloud services, supporting real-time/batch ingestion and disconnected operations.
•Collaborate with backend, security, and DevSecOps teams to ensure compliance with DoD IL4, FedRAMP, and RMF; troubleshoot and optimize edge software performance, reliability, and security.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as engineering or mathematics.
•Minimum 3 years of experience with software engineering.
•1+ year developing backend services and APIs for cloud-based, IoT-enabled, or regulated federal systems.
•1+ year applying modern software development methodologies (e.g., agile, DevOps/DevSecOps) in a professional or academic setting.
•US Citizen with the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
