Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide professional seamanship and vessel operations/marine engineering support across Defence maritime activities.
  • •Support harbour services, consort duties, fuelling operations, vessel manoeuvres, cargo handling, seamanship and shipboard drills.
  • •Perform maintenance and marine engineering activities aligned to your MED III certification.
  • •Maintain vessel logs, work orders and operational documentation.
  • •Support training and induction of personnel for inshore vessel operations and coordinate with Defence, Serco teams and contractors to ensure safe operations.

Key Requirements

  • •Operate as Master, Mate or General Purpose Hand in line with your AMSA qualifications.
  • •Hold a current AMSA Certificate of Competency as Master less than 24 metres Near Coastal and Marine Engine Driver Grade III Near Coastal.
  • •Experience in maritime vessel maintenance and marine engineering activities, with strong safe work practices and environmental requirements.
  • •Hold a First Aid Certificate and a current driver’s licence.
  • •You either hold or can obtain Statement of Attainment(s) for Safe Cargo Operations on Oil and Chemical Tankers, Tanker Familiarisation, and Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting, plus High Risk licences (Dogging, Crane, confined space).
