Job Summary

Maintain, repair, install, and modify electrical systems for sawmill equipment to maximize uptime, quality, and production. You’ll perform inspections and preventive maintenance, diagnose and repair issues in machinery and instrumentation, and program/troubleshoot PLCs and other control systems. The role follows a rotating full-time weekday schedule (days/nights) and prioritizes safety and rapid response to electrical emergencies to minimize downtime.

Job Function: Field Service, Maintenance & Skilled Trades

Key Responsibilities

•Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on mill electrical systems, including wiring, circuits, and control panels.
•Diagnose and repair electrical issues in machinery and equipment (including sensors and transmitters) to keep operations running.
•Program, troubleshoot, and optimize PLCs and other control systems to improve efficiency and precision in mill processes.
•Follow electrical safety protocols, identify hazards, and maintain a safe working atmosphere.
•Respond to electrical emergencies and breakdowns promptly, coordinating with maintenance/operations personnel and communicating updates to supervisors and team members.

Key Requirements

•Red seal or Interprovincial TQ is an asset.
•Strong background in PLCs setup and troubleshooting.
•Solid background in heavy industry and construction.
•Experience as a certified electrician performing electrical maintenance, repair, installation, and modification.
•Ability to follow safety protocols and guidelines while working with electrical systems.
