Job Summary

Build and manage software for next-generation storage systems while working directly with lab hardware. You’ll collaborate with global engineering teams to design, test, and optimize components using Python and modern microservices. Responsibilities include developing NVMe-oF configuration and backend management services, creating iDRAC/BMC integration, troubleshooting issues across API and race conditions, and maintaining software/firmware update flows. You’ll also support hardware setup and troubleshooting during lab operations at Dell scale.

Key Responsibilities

•Build and maintain Python microservices using FastAPI, Pydantic, and async/await patterns.
•Develop DataPath Manager (DPM) for NVMe-oF configuration and backend management.
•Create iDRAC/BMC integration services for Dell server management.
•Troubleshoot software-layer issues including API misbehaviors, race conditions, and bugs; maintain software and firmware update flows.
•Support hardware operations in the lab, including configuring NVMe SSDs and networking and performing troubleshooting, hardware replacements, and FRU swaps.

Key Requirements

•Strong experience with Python (3.11+), FastAPI, Pydantic, asyncio, REST APIs, and microservices architecture.
•Experience with Docker, Git, pytest, ruff, and mypy for development, testing, and code quality.
•Solid understanding of Linux systems and software development fundamentals.
•Experience with storage technologies including NVMe, NVMe-oF, and hardware management APIs such as Redfish and iDRAC/BMC.
•Knowledge of data center technologies including PCIe (Gen4/Gen5), Ethernet, RoCEv2, RDMA, IPv6, DHCP, DNS-SD, and LLDP.
