Key Responsibilities

  • •Drive fundamental and applied AI research to build best-in-class models for Figma domains
  • •Combine industry best practices with first-principles design to develop Generative AI models using SFT, RL, prompt improvements, and synthetic data generation
  • •Collaborate with product and infrastructure engineers to ship AI-powered features
  • •Translate user feedback into AI system requirements in collaboration with product managers and engineers
  • •Build evaluation systems to measure and improve AI feature quality across Figma products

Key Requirements

  • •4+ years in Generative AI and 6+ years in machine learning, NLP/understanding, or computer vision
  • •Strong software engineering skills with 5+ years of programming in Python, C++, Java or R
  • •Experience building generative AI features via prompt engineering and fine-tuning models in production
  • •Experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch, JAX, HuggingFace
  • •Experience training LLMs with RL techniques (e.g., DPO, PPO, RLVR) and related reward-based methods
