Key Responsibilities

  • •Define the business question and decision each study must support, select study type/level, and set assumptions, standards, and process across workstreams.
  • •Execute studies personally where scale permits or lead integrated Hecla and external teams across mining disciplines, integrating geology, metallurgical, geotechnical, tailings, water, infrastructure, environmental, and financial workstreams.
  • •Lead trade-off and option studies, alternatives analysis, capital/operating trade-offs, value engineering, and build/audit/defend the economic models.
  • •Manage regulatory studies and disclosure/permitting support under S-K 1300 and NI 43-101, coordinating Qualified Persons and ensuring deliverables and supporting work meet evidentiary standards.
  • •Source, scope, and manage consultants/laboratories/specalists; review deliverables substantively and reproduce critical calculations; present findings and risks to executive and board-level stakeholders to drive decisions and action.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Mining Engineering preferred; Geology, Civil, Geotechnical, or Metallurgical Engineering considered where mining study leadership is demonstrated.
  • •15+ years of progressive technical experience in mining, including demonstrated leadership of studies through PEA, prefeasibility, and feasibility.
  • •Demonstrated track record of studies and reports that supported decisions and led to action.
  • •Substantial experience selecting, scoping, and managing engineering consultants, with an established network to mobilize expertise quickly.
  • •Direct experience preparing, coordinating, or contributing to technical reports under S-K 1300 and NI 43-101; Qualified Person status or eligibility is an asset.
