Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead detection and incident response from signal to alert through postmortem.
  • •Own HUD’s security roadmap across product security, cloud/infrastructure security, corporate security, incident response, and compliance.
  • •Secure HUD’s APIs, platform, and data systems via threat modeling, design/code reviews, authentication/authorization, secrets management, and related controls.
  • •Build monitoring and detection capabilities; investigate incidents and translate threats into durable improvements.
  • •Own SOC 2 and customer trust, including control design, security questionnaires, policy management, vendor reviews, and audits.

Key Requirements

  • •Strong security engineering fundamentals with hands-on experience across areas like infrastructure security, detection/response, and identity.
  • •Experience leading security incidents end-to-end, from detection/containment through root-cause analysis and follow-up engineering work.
  • •Experience implementing or operating SOC 2 (or comparable frameworks), translating requirements into technical and operational controls.
  • •High agency and sound judgment to identify/prioritize meaningful risks and drive pragmatic implementations under uncertainty.
  • •Strong communication skills working with founders, engineers, operations, legal, auditors, customers, and external partners.
