Job Summary

Perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and light to follow-up repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile field environment. Diagnose and repair electrical, brake/cooling, engine electronics, diesel steering, transmissions, and other systems using test instruments and road tests. Manage parts inventory and a daily service schedule, document repair orders in a company system, and complete DOT documentation while meeting OSHA/EPA/DOT compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
•Diagnose, adjust, and repair truck equipment across electrical/brake/cooling, starters/alternators, engine electronics, steering systems, engines, transmissions, clutches, differentials, and related components.
•Inspect, test, and road test vehicles; identify problems and use judgment to evaluate alternatives.
•Manage parts inventory and equipment on a company-issued service truck, including reconciliation and obtaining parts from approved vendors.
•Document work and repair findings on Repair Orders (RO) using a company-issued iOS device and complete DOT and other required forms while following safety and regulatory policies.

Key Requirements

•High school diploma/GED plus 3 years’ experience in a related field (or other equivalent combination, such as 5 years’ experience).
•Possess and supply a set of hand tools required for the job.
•Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI) within 18 months.
•Pass DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical per FMCSA requirements.
•Maintain a current valid DOT medical card (with timing specified) and hold a valid driver’s license; must be at least 21 years or older.
