Job Summary

Build and scale the Core Payments engine that powers every Yassir transaction, from payment orchestration and routing to reconciliation and settlement. Translate complex payment and ledger requirements into precise technical specs and define correct edge-case behavior across retries, failures, reversals, and resilience. Partner closely with engineers on system design, coordinate with adjacent squads (Compliance, Core Banking, channels), and use data to prioritize improvements.

Key Responsibilities

•Own a defined area of the Core Payments roadmap with the Senior PM and engineering leads on your squad.
•Write clear technical specifications, including API contracts, transaction flows, state transitions, error codes, and acceptance criteria.
•Reason about edge cases (timeouts, retries, partial failures, crashes) and specify correct behavior for each.
•Collaborate daily with engineers on system design and coordinate with adjacent squads (Compliance, Core Banking, channel teams).
•Partner with operations and finance on reconciliation and settlement, and use data to monitor success rates, latency, and failure modes.

Key Requirements

•3–5 years of product management experience, with meaningful time on technical or infrastructure products (payments, fintech, ledger, banking, or a comparable backend/platform domain).
•Technical depth with APIs, data models, and system design discussions; able to follow a transaction through multiple systems and spot gaps.
•Strong end-to-end understanding of payments/financial transactions, including authorization, settlement, reconciliation, and failure modes (or the ability to learn fast).
•Proven experience writing high-quality technical specifications and working closely with engineering teams to ship reliable systems.
•Excellent written and verbal communication, able to make complex technical topics clear to non-technical stakeholders.
