Job Summary

Director of Data & AI Support Engineering in Bangalore leads and grows a regional team of Data & AI technical experts, ensuring 24x7 coverage with global alignment. Focused on resiliency, production workloads, and long-running data engineering use cases, you’ll partner with product, field engineering, and sales to improve reliability, performance, and supportability of Databricks platforms for customers across EMEA and APJ.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead and grow a regional team of Data & AI technical experts in India, ensuring coverage across APJ and EMEA during respective business hours and 24x7 coordination with other regions
•Grow the team’s technical expertise to support adoption of new Databricks products and features for customer production workloads
•Engage with top customers to understand business needs and Data & AI strategy, in collaboration with field engineering and sales
•Partner with internal product engineering teams to improve Databricks products’ supportability and reliability
•Maintain high platform reliability to help customers achieve their business goals

Key Requirements

•6+ years of people leadership experience as a manager of managers
•18+ years in the IT industry with a strong background in Software Engineering and Data Engineering, ideally with Big Data & Cloud experience
•Experience leading large teams (100+ employees) in engineering, technical support, or consulting; customer-facing experience highly desirable
•Hands-on experience in at least two of: Big Data (Spark, Hadoop, Kafka); Machine Learning/AI projects; Data Science/Streaming use cases
•Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science or equivalent technical field
