Job Summary

Safely perform manual construction duties to support highway, utility, and grade crews and on-site plant locations. Prepare ground surfaces by removing debris, operate ground compactors, and help level and rake dirt. Set up safety barriers, prepare manhole and water line openings, and work behind the paver to shovel and rake asphalt. Clean tools and assist with equipment operation and other labor tasks such as cutting concrete/asphalt as needed.

Key Responsibilities

•Safely perform a variety of construction duties to assist highway, utility, and grade crews or on-site plant locations.
•Prepare ground surfaces and remove debris out of the construction path.
•Operate ground compactors and help level/rake dirt and asphalt as work progresses.
•Set up safety controls such as fencing, barricades, and safety cones to protect the work area.
•Clean asphalt off tools and equipment after each work day, and assist with trained equipment operation and other labor tasks as needed.
