Build and maintain AI developer foundation tooling that enables how engineers, product, and design use AI at SimplePractice. Own context-layer rules and grounding data, publish standards for prompting coding agents, and define review gates for AI-generated artifacts. Evaluate models, harnesses, and vendors with evidence, turn prototypes into supported workflows, and partner on product-to-engineering handoffs while teaching and improving how teams work with the tools.

Key Responsibilities

•Own the context layer agents read, including rules files, docs conventions, grounding data, and keeping it current via CI.
•Publish standards for prompting coding agents and the context/spec requirements before handing work to an agent.
•Define review gates for AI-generated artifacts and feed reviewer findings back into the conventions.
•Turn prototypes into supported workflows that run for users beyond the original author.
•Evaluate harnesses, models, and vendors against criteria and eval sets; work product-to-engineering handoffs with PMs, designers, and EMs while teaching teams to use the tools.

Key Requirements

•BS/MS in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
•7+ years building production software and then maintaining it, with experience shipping decisions and validating what held up.
•Strong problem-solving and communication skills in fast-paced, cross-functional environments.
•Recent, direct Ruby on Rails experience in a large codebase, including the ability to read unfamiliar code quickly.
•Experience with LLM-backed systems in production, including context/memory handling and writing evals with evidence-based evaluation.
