Job Summary

Lead design of fire protection systems across Brisbane-based projects, guiding multi-disciplinary teams from concept through construction. You’ll design hydrants, sprinklers, gas suppression, detection, and evacuation systems while ensuring NCC and Australian Standards compliance. Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with clients on diverse projects within the national Building Engineering group.

Key Responsibilities

•Be actively involved in all phases of fire protection project design and delivery, from concept through to construction and commissioning, ensuring high-quality solutions across diverse sectors.
•Design and implement fire hydrant and hose reel systems, automatic fire sprinkler systems, alternative fire suppression systems, gas suppression, fire detection, evacuation, ensuring full compliance with Australian Standards.
•Collaborate with engineers from various disciplines on large, multi-disciplinary projects to develop integrated fire protection solutions for major clients.
•Ensure all fire protection designs meet the National Construction Code (NCC), Australian Standards, and local authority regulations, as well as major client standards and guidelines maintaining the highest safety and compliance standards.
•Use your expertise in wet and dry fire protection systems to mentor junior engineers and drive technical excellence across a range of projects.

Key Requirements

•Ideally, 2+ years’ experience as a Fire Protection Engineer for an Engineering Consultancy (or contractor with extensive design experience). Dry Fire experience will be highly regarded.
