Key Responsibilities

  • •Spend most time hands-on engineering: write, review, test, and ship production code for HSBC Productivity Suite.
  • •Design and deliver generative AI capabilities and integrations, owning delivery from requirements through production operation.
  • •Make senior engineering design decisions within an engineering pod, clarifying ambiguity and breaking complex requirements into actionable deliveries.
  • •Build secure, resilient, maintainable services using controls across testing, deployment, monitoring, observability, and production support.
  • •Mentor engineers through pairing and reviews, and actively support production incidents to drive practical improvements.

Key Requirements

  • •Strong hands-on software engineering experience designing, coding, testing, and operating significant application capabilities.
  • •Effective use of AI coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to safely prototype, write, test, and review code.
  • •Strong Python expertise and practical knowledge of modern engineering practices such as APIs, microservices, databases, containers, automated testing, and CI/CD.
  • •Hands-on experience building AI/ML/generative AI solutions and taking them into secure, reliable production use.
  • •Practical knowledge of large language models, retrieval-augmented generation, agentic workflows, evaluation, guardrails, observability, and responsible AI.
