Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide day-to-day legal advice on employment law matters including accommodations, classification, compensation, discipline, hiring, leaves of absence, separations, and workplace investigations.
  • •Advise HR and Retail teams on wage and hour compliance including timekeeping, overtime, meal and rest periods, sick time, and paid leave.
  • •Revise and update company-wide employment policies, agreements, notices, and communications to align with legal requirements and best practices.
  • •Partner with HR, Payroll, and People Operations teams to ensure compliant implementation of employment laws, policies, and programs.
  • •Provide training and guidance to managers on compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 225,000 - 265,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •J.D. from a top tier law school.
  • •Active bar membership in California.
  • •6-10 years of experience in employment law at a top law firm and/or company.
  • •Strong working knowledge of U.S. federal wage and hour laws across several jurisdictions.
  • •Strong knowledge of Canadian employment laws, with working knowledge of differences across provinces.
