Key Responsibilities

  • •Operate the vehicle in compliance with applicable state and federal transportation laws.
  • •Transport loads safely and timely along required routes, obeying traffic laws and safety regulations.
  • •Maneuver truck and trailer into loading/unloading areas and follow loading crew signals.
  • •Assist with loading/unloading and move/unload goods and materials using specialized equipment when warranted.
  • •Maintain delivery documentation (invoices, shipping bills of lading) and perform routine service checks (oil, water, gasoline, air), reporting malfunctions to the Shipping Supervisor.

Key Requirements

  • •Hold a commercial driver’s license (Class A CDL) (or chauffeur’s license depending on state) appropriate for the vehicle weight.
  • •Pass background and drug testing, including a DOT physical for trucks over 10k lbs, and be at least 21 years old to operate the company vehicle.
  • •Maintain safe driving practices while transporting loads on required routes and complying with traffic laws and safety regulations.
  • •Be able to handle physical requirements including lifting/moving up to 40 pounds and spending prolonged periods sitting in a trailer cab.
  • •Provide strong interpersonal and customer service skills, speaking professionally with customers and staff at delivery points.
