Job Summary

Lead bridge and infrastructure inspection efforts as part of the Bridge & Infrastructure Inspection Team. Serve as a team leader on bridge, tunnel, and ancillary inspections; perform structural engineering inspections and support bridge/tunnel load rating preparation. Assist with AutoCAD plan/sketch development, field research, preliminary calculations, documentation, and cost proposal/scope-of-work support, while providing guidance and training to entry-level engineers.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead bridge, tunnel, and ancillary inspections with the Bridge & Infrastructure Inspection Team.
•Perform professional structural engineering work and inspections.
•Assist in preparing bridge and tunnel load ratings.
•Develop plans/sketches using AutoCAD and support preliminary design calculations and analysis.
•Provide guidance and training to entry-level engineers and help collect/maintain project documentation.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, or equivalent.
•Nationally Certified Bridge Inspector (NCBI) certification via an FHWA-approved comprehensive bridge inspection training course; certification must be current.
•5 to 10 years of experience in bridge, tunnel, ancillary inspection, design, or related infrastructure work.
•Engineer in Training certification (PE preferred).
•Proficient structural engineering knowledge and ability to perform extensive field work (including heights, adverse weather, and night work).
