Key Responsibilities

  • •Manage mainframe disk and storage administration, including installation, removal, upgrades, updates, provisioning, restoration, and ongoing support.
  • •Perform daily operational activities such as health checks, monitoring, incident management, and issue resolution.
  • •Plan and implement storage capacity expansions, storage volume allocation, and utilization reporting.
  • •Administer backup, recovery, archival, and disaster recovery solutions, including participation in DR testing and recovery exercises.
  • •Install, test, evaluate, and maintain storage hardware/software solutions and manage storage volume and related storage management products; support compliance and maintain documentation/runbooks.

Key Requirements

  • •8 to 15+ years of experience in mainframe infrastructure and z/OS storage administration in large enterprise environments.
  • •Hands-on experience supporting IBM z/OS storage environments, including DS8000 Series storage and virtual tape/disaster recovery solutions.
  • •Proven capability managing storage capacity, backup and recovery, replication technologies, and enterprise storage operations.
  • •Strong knowledge of IBM DS8000 Series Storage (DS8870/DS8K family) and core utilities and functions used for storage administration.
  • •Experience with SMP/E and z/OSMF for software maintenance and deployment, plus strong analytical and communication skills.
