Job Summary

Serve as a hands-on maintenance technician for the BEUMER Individual Carrier System (ICS) supporting airport baggage flow at Gerald R. Ford International Airport. Perform routine and advanced maintenance, diagnose mechanical/electrical/control faults, respond to interruptions, and run preventive and corrective work. Monitor system health with diagnostic tools and performance dashboards, maintain maintenance logs, support upgrades and retrofits, and participate in reliability-centered improvement activities while following safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform routine and advanced maintenance on BEUMER ICS components, including diverters, scanners, and related third-party interface equipment.
•Diagnose and resolve faults across mechanical, electrical, and control subsystems using structured troubleshooting.
•Respond to system interruptions (e.g., carrier jams, sensor faults, control logic errors), executing resets and root-cause analysis.
•Perform preventive and corrective maintenance aligned with BEUMER standards and OEM documentation.
•Interface with SAC and PLC systems to monitor performance, execute logic-based interventions, and support upgrades/retrofits while maintaining required logs and safety compliance.

Key Requirements

•Associate degree or technical certification in mechatronics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
•5 years of hands-on experience maintaining automated material handling systems, preferably in airport or logistics environments.
•Must be eligible to obtain and maintain airside security clearance.
•Deep understanding of mechatronic systems, including sensors, actuators, motors, and controls.
•Proficiency with BEUMER SAC systems and PLC programming (Siemens preferred), including fault diagnostics.
