Key Responsibilities

  • •Directly manage 4–6 engineers (1:1s, career growth, performance, and team health) and recruit as needed.
  • •Plan, sequence, and de-risk multi-phase releases for the telemetry agent with a fixed end-of-year milestone.
  • •Set technical direction in partnership with the tech lead and make tradeoff decisions alongside the team.
  • •Maintain rollout safety, low overhead, reliability, and the operational health of the agent fleet including oncall rotation.
  • •Coordinate dependencies and escalate early across team boundaries, and expand roadmap into telemetry validation and customer-facing telemetry export.

Key Requirements

  • •5+ years of hands-on systems engineering experience building host agents, telemetry collectors, daemons, or similar performance-sensitive software (Go, Rust, or C++).
  • •Hands-on familiarity with Kubernetes and helm-based deployment.
  • •2+ years managing software engineers directly, with experience driving delivery against fixed deadlines.
  • •Ability to coach senior and staff-level engineers and collaborate closely with a strong tech lead.
  • •Track record of shipping multi-phase projects and making early risk calls, with strong communication and judgment across functions.
