Key Responsibilities

  • •Assist in the installation and qualification of systems, and troubleshoot day-to-day manufacturing issues.
  • •Solve production, equipment, and process problems and implement yield and product performance improvements.
  • •Develop methods to assign causes to yield excursions, set up and maintain gauges, and ensure processes run to the Process Control Plan.
  • •Respond to SPC process control alarms and execute planned process experiments, collecting and analyzing data and reporting results.
  • •Collect daily tool/performance and product performance data; train production associates; update internal documentation (drawings, SOPs, and process specifications); interface with production associates and supplier representatives as needed.

Key Requirements

  • •High School Diploma or GED, plus one: an associates degree in a technical discipline; 2+ years machine/mechanic experience as a primary job function; one year First Solar technical experience; or six months as a Temporary Manufacturing Engineering Technician.
  • •Strong safety mindset.
  • •General electrical/electronic and mechanical knowledge.
  • •Self-directed ability to work with minimal supervision and troubleshoot/solve problems on the manufacturing line.
  • •Good written and oral communication skills in English, with the ability to handle administrative and technical tasks.
