Key Responsibilities

  • •Own the onboard live-map estimator end to end, fusing HD map priors with live perception for a real-time world estimate.
  • •Build onboard map change detection to classify divergences between map and perception and define when the planner should stop trusting the map.
  • •Define map trust contracts for the planner, including confidence semantics, degraded-mode behavior, and operating points.
  • •Build the evaluation backbone—ground truth, metrics pipelines, operating points, and regression testing to prevent quality drift.
  • •Ship estimation code in modern C++ that meets real-time budgets on embedded compute and extend fleet divergence loops into map freshness/correction pipelines.

Key Requirements

  • •5+ years building production software with at least one shipped system where you owned the estimation core.
  • •Production-proven state estimation fundamentals, including factor graphs or filtering, data association, uncertainty representation/propagation, and 3D geometry/transforms.
  • •Experience fusing heterogeneous sources (prior map data, perception output, raw sensors) into a single world estimate with rigorous error characterization.
  • •Strong modern C++ and the ability to meet real-time budgets on embedded compute.
  • •Built evaluation systems, ground-truth or metrics pipelines, and used them to hold an operating point and prevent regressions.
