Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead teams to design and implement flight control algorithms for electric VTOL aircraft.
  • •Connect GNC requirements with other system requirements through cross-functional collaboration.
  • •Author software requirements and test cases that drive the design of GNC software.
  • •Build and improve simulation models to verify and validate system requirements and vehicle/environment fidelity.
  • •Collaborate with Flight Test, Systems Engineering, and Systems Safety to design tests and identify/correct deficiencies in the Flight Control System.

Key Requirements

  • •Strong knowledge of vehicle dynamics, optimization, and classical and modern control theory.
  • •BS in Aerospace Engineering or Electrical/Computer Engineering with at least 10 years of relevant experience, OR MS with at least 8 years, OR PhD with at least 6 years.
  • •Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink.
  • •Experience verifying GNC systems in simulation and on hardware.
  • •Experience with envelope protection.
