Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide technical leadership for design, engineering, and commissioning of utility, industrial, and commercial power projects including transmission/distribution substations.
  • •Coordinate, review, and approve electrical infrastructure design plans ensuring data integrity and compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
  • •Prepare points lists, assign and program data addressing/routing, develop HMI screens, and travel to test and commission data transfer schemes.
  • •Design and configure network/communication paths for RTUs, data concentrators, IEDs, HMIs, and other SCADA equipment within substations/facilities.
  • •Develop, document, and implement logic and control schemes for remote/local operation of power system equipment; specify communication networks and troubleshoot/commission as needed.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • •7 to 10 years of relevant post-education experience as an electrical engineer providing design deliverables for power generation, transmission, and distribution projects.
  • •Must be flexible across schedules to meet business needs and quickly adapt to change.
  • •Occasional travel may be required depending on project requirements.
  • •Proven track record upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP health, safety, drug/alcohol, and harassment policies.
