Key Responsibilities

  • •Design, test, and align AI and machine learning models to perform reliably in an operational professional setting.
  • •Validate model performance against real operational conditions and explain how/when models are wrong.
  • •Monitor models after deployment for drift and degraded performance, ensuring failure modes are documented before go-live.
  • •Support federal security or accreditation review with documentation and evidence produced through normal development.
  • •Provide technical authority to program and engineering teams on safe, explainable model behavior and when AI is not the right tool.

Key Requirements

  • •Designing and taking an ML model from prototype to a production system depended on by real users.
  • •Experience in a regulated or federal environment where model decisions are explainable and defensible, not only accurate.
  • •Ability to identify and describe model failure before it reaches a decision that matters.
  • •Comfort across the model lifecycle: data, training, validation, deployment, and monitoring.
  • •Active CBP BI, a DHS component fitness determination, or an active DoD clearance (shortens start date).
