Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead owner’s engineer engagements supporting utilities through AMI vendor selection, pilot design, full deployment, and program close-out.
  • •Advise on AMI system architecture decisions and develop AMI KPI frameworks to track technical, operational, and financial performance.
  • •Draft and review RFPs, technical specifications, evaluation criteria, and contract language for AMI hardware, software, and services; conduct quantitative vendor evaluations.
  • •Assess meter data management (MDM) systems and readiness for MDMS-to-billing integration; advise on IT/OT integration across SCADA, CIS/billing, GIS, and customer portals.
  • •Support proposals and deliver technical guidance for AMI investment business cases, including thought leadership via white papers, presentations, and industry working groups.

Key Requirements

  • •BA/BS in engineering, Business, Environmental Science, Public Administration, or a related field plus 8 years’ experience working for or directly with water organizations in AMI, metering, or smart water capacity (or equivalent.
  • •Experience with end-to-end AMI deployment or major metering infrastructure upgrades.
  • •Experience with the AMI vendor landscape, including platforms such as Itron, Sensus, Neptune, Kamstrup, Master Meter, and Badger Meter (or comparable systems).
  • •Experience with meter data management (MDM) systems and integration with CIS/billing platforms.
  • •Ability/willingness to travel 25% - 50% of the time.
