Key Responsibilities

  • •Devising planning strategies by assessing site planning history and relevant development plan policies, along with national planning policy and guidance.
  • •Preparing briefing notes on the likelihood of achieving planning permission and drafting planning statements to support development proposals.
  • •Reviewing third party documents and planning deliverables to ensure consistency and validity.
  • •Assisting multidisciplinary teams on planning projects, attending site visits and design team/client meetings.
  • •Managing project delivery and budgetary control, including negotiating with planning authorities and stakeholders and monitoring planning applications with consultation responses.

Key Requirements

  • •Degree level qualification in town planning and/or postgraduate qualification in a relevant subject.
  • •Chartered status (MRTPI / MRICS).
  • •Sound knowledge and experience of the UK planning system, gained in either a local authority or private sector setting.
  • •Good technical and IT skills.
  • •A commercial approach to planning consultancy and development, with good organisational and communication skills.
