Key Responsibilities

  • •Verify ICD-10-CM and relevant CPT/HCPCS codes on UCF/discharge summary for submission to insurance companies.
  • •Analyze documentation and provide reports/feedback on coding concerns, variations, and irrelevance in CPT codes used.
  • •Upload OP/IP e-claims and resubmissions to required portals (including DHPO) and support direct billing claim payments.
  • •Identify diagnosis under exclusion ICD codes and not-billable CPT codes, and enter codes in the software application.
  • •Coordinate with insurance doctors/medical teams and billing supervisor/accountants for submission, resubmission, follow-up, reconciliation, and final sign-off.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university; bachelor’s degree in nursing, pharmacy, or physiotherapy will be preferred.
  • •Certification from AAPC or AHIMA is required.
  • •Verify ICD-10-CM codes and relevant CPT/HCPCS codes on inpatient documentation for claim submission.
  • •Assign proper CPT/HCPCS codes for newly added services/procedures.
  • •Coordinate with physicians and billing/insurance teams to resolve coding clarifications and discrepancies.
