Job Summary

Build and operate personalized recommendation models for an interactive learning experience inside Grafana. Evolve the recommender system using real-time product behavior, content metadata, customer context, and experimentation. Own model training/serving, evaluation methodology, and feature pipelines, then ship incremental improvements in collaboration with software engineers and a Data Analyst supporting measurement and instrumentation. Partner across product analytics, Developer Advocacy, Docs, Engineering, and GTM to translate ambiguous needs into testable hypotheses.

•Evolve the Interactive Learning Plugin’s recommendation system, including candidate selection, ranking, sequencing, and next-best-action recommendations.
•Own a real-time recommendation service by developing increasingly personalized approaches and deploying improvements.
•Build and operate applied models: develop, validate, version, monitor, and iterate; take ownership of model training and serving.
•Define recommendation quality by developing offline, online, and longitudinal measures and owning feature pipelines and monitoring.
•Partner across disciplines to productionize models with engineers, work with Product Analytics on metrics/instrumentation/analysis, and translate needs into testable hypotheses.

•Experience with HTTP/gRPC, streaming, and Go/TypeScript in distributed systems.
•Personally owned applied models end-to-end: built, validated, monitored, and iterated in a product or operational environment.
•Comfort collaborating with engineers to implement models in version-controlled codebases in production.
•Strong product thinking and technical communication to turn ambiguous objectives into sequences of models and experiments that improve the product.
