Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop, validate, manage lifecycles, and document Akamai server hardware platforms for a growing network.
  • •Collaborate with vendors to evaluate pre-release hardware and provide input on future product designs.
  • •Define and review architecture for next-generation server hardware platforms.
  • •Lead design reviews across electrical, mechanical, and firmware domains.
  • •Oversee multi-vendor engagements, manage hardware failure escalations with OEM/ODM suppliers, and drive post-deployment analysis into design feedback loops.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a related discipline.
  • •Experience across the full hardware development lifecycle, including pre-production sample evaluation and mass-production validation.
  • •Expertise with server hardware components (Disk, RAM, NIC, GPU) and their protocols (CompTIA Server+ level proficiency).
  • •Expertise operating lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, thermal chambers, and networking devices, and conducting diagnostic and investigative analysis.
  • •Experience developing test frameworks and embedded software with Python, plus expertise with Linux and reliability engineering principles.
