Key Responsibilities

  • •Track upstream Linux Kernel developments and identify features relevant to Arista products and internal needs.
  • •Develop and maintain EOS kernel features and tests; build automated test infrastructure and validate functionality.
  • •Work with hardware engineers and vendors to qualify kernel-dependent components (CPUs and NICs) for Arista products.
  • •Contribute kernel features back to the mainline and integrate new kernel versions into EOS and internal development.

Key Requirements

  • •BS in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering + 8 years, or MS + 6 years, or Ph.D. + 3 years, or equivalent experience.
  • •Expert hands-on experience programming in C (C++ and Python desirable).
  • •Significant experience troubleshooting Linux kernel bugs and developing kernel features.
  • •Familiarity with Linux kernel architecture, design, and implementation, including upstream patching processes.
  • •Understanding of IP networking architecture and strong problem-solving, communication, and independent teamwork skills.
