Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide safe, efficient, and compliant command and navigation of the SPCSD during dredging, sailing, maneuvering, and berthing/unberthing operations.
  • •Plan and execute vessel movements, dredging transits, and operational activities in coordination with the Dredging Superintendent and marine operations teams.
  • •Maintain bridge watchkeeping and navigational safety, including passage planning, electronic navigation, chart management, position monitoring, and route assessment.
  • •Direct critical maneuvers and oversee safe positioning and movement during cutter-head deployment, swing operations, spud/anchor handling, and relocation between dredging areas.
  • •Lead emergency preparedness and onboard response, ensure Safety Management System compliance (including Permit-to-Work and Stop Work Authority), and supervise/mentor deck officers and crew.

Key Requirements

  • •Certified Master (unlimited) license as per STCW convention.
  • •Minimum 10 years’ experience on Cutter Suction Dredgers.
  • •Advanced & Basic STCW trainings.
  • •Medical certificate as per MLC.
  • •Demonstrated knowledge of bridge/navigation systems and safe navigation requirements for dredging operations.
