Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform close-tolerance drilling, reaming, removal, and installation of critical support structures and fracture critical areas.
  • •Locate blind holes for installing new structural items and perform sealing, painting, shimming, and preserving per standard repair processes.
  • •Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical orders, process specifications, and retrofit requirements to perform structural modifications and repairs.
  • •Use tooling assemblies and fixtures for depot level modification and repair; fabricate and maintain tooling, dies, jigs, holding fixtures, and shop aids.
  • •Fabricate and repair aircraft sheet metal/structural components and perform metalworking operations such as scarfing, blanking, forming, bending, piercing, punching, flanging, and slotting to specified tolerances.

Key Requirements

  • •10+ years of experience working with non-porous metals such as aluminum, titanium, and stainless.
  • •10+ years of experience using schematics, specifications, assembly drawings, and standard operating procedures.
  • •10+ years of experience using structures hand tools including drills (45 and 90 degrees), pancake adapters, countersink cages, hole finders, and rivet guns.
  • •10+ years of experience locating, drilling, countersinking, and fastening heavy aircraft structures (e.g., doublers, stringers, webs, seat tracks).
  • •Ability to access/enter a wing fuel tank opening and work in confined spaces for extended periods; ability to work variable shifts including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
