Job Summary

Implement an environmental management system to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations at one or more Tyson locations. Supervise wastewater activities, create and run environmental programs, write compliance plans, track KPIs, and develop/submit permit applications and waste minimization initiatives. Lead location management for regulator relationships and spill response, acting as an organizer and problem-solver under the Area Environmental Manager to drive toward zero environmental exceedances.

•Implement an environmental management system to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations at one or more locations.
•Supervise the wastewater supervisor and wastewater operators and oversee creation and implementation of environmental programs.
•Write compliance plans, track compliance KPIs, and develop and submit permit applications.
•Implement waste minimization programs and ensure on-time reporting of required compliance-based reports; communicate any non-compliant issues.
•Lead location management to ensure compliance, maintain regulator relationships, and coordinate spill response under the Area Environmental Manager.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in natural science, environmental science, or engineering.
•4+ years of environmental experience or 2+ years with successful completion of the Tyson Foods Environmental Trainee program; food production industry experience is a plus.
•Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and basic computer skills to use compliance databases such as eCAT and Incident Tracker.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including communicating with all levels of team members; bilingual skills are a plus.
•Strong leadership, interpersonal skills, and the ability to drive concurrent projects to completion with project management concepts and techniques.
