Job Summary

Lead firmware/BIOS development for complex workstation products and platforms, partnering with internal and outsourced engineering teams across solution design, coding, testing, and integration. Own firmware architecture perspective and domain expertise across components such as Super IO, embedded controllers, system/storage management, LAN/WiFi, and Thunderbolt. Define firmware frameworks and design patterns, create supporting documentation and design specifications, and drive innovation through new technologies and patents while ensuring standards compliance and improving quality.

Key Responsibilities

•Partner with firmware engineering teams and internal/outsourced partners through solution design, analysis, coding, testing, and integration for complex products and platforms.
•Manage and expand relationships with internal and outsourced development partners for firmware design and development.
•Review and evaluate designs and project activities for compliance with systems design/development guidelines; provide feedback to improve quality and reduce failure risk.
•Provide domain-specific expertise and firmware leadership across cross-organization projects and programs (e.g., Super IO, embedded controller, system management, storage controller, LAN/WiFi, Thunderbolt).
•Define firmware guidelines/frameworks and design patterns, formulate design specifications and development supporting documents, and align with design stakeholders on roadmaps and architectures.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, electrical engineering, or equivalent.
•12+ years of BIOS development experience.
•Strong knowledge of industry standards including x86 processors, chipsets, DRAM, PCIe, ACPI, SATA, USB, and Thunderbolt.
•Extensive experience with firmware design tools and languages, plus firmware architecture and hardware interaction.
•Excellent analytical skills for triage/replication resolving, strong written and verbal communication in English and Mandarin.
